Q. Who is behind Up2Us Golden (Up2Us)
A. Several community members have formed this group after identifying the need amongst their neighbors for community members to share issues and concerns and to take action around concerning actions of Trump and DOGE.
Q. Do you have a policy document laying out what you are for, and what you are opposed to?
A. Yes, and if you want to make use of it, please see the document that includes how to leverage the policy for your communications.
Q. How is Up2Us being funded?
A. Golden United provided some seed money, we obtained a grant from The Denver Foundation, a few founders have donated. Our expenses are primarily around back office (website, email), communications, and events.
Q. Is Up2Us a non-profit organization?
A. No. It is an ad-hoc network of concerned community members who are seeking to engage a broad number of Golden are individuals in standing together for truth, democracy, and rights.
Q. Are donations allowed?
A. A bank account has been established at US Bank with both Zelle and Venmo options. To use Zelle, search for: admin@up2usgolden.org. For Venmo, search for @uptous-golden. Or, you could send a check (obtain an address from admin@up2usgolden.org).
Q. Is Up2Us associated with any other groups?
A. Up2Us is serving as the Golden group supporting Indivisible and the leaders of the Golden Immigrant Partnership Team are serving as the leaders of Up2Us immigrant protection work so those activities are closely linked. We also seek information and coordinate with other groups like the ACLU, Together Colorado, and others.
Q. If I don’t trust this group to keep my information secure, what should I do?
A. We will not be sharing your contact information outside of our leadership team and will be sending messages via platforms where your email address and contact information will not be visible. We can only help you get engaged if you give us contact information and permission to use it internally.
Q. I don’t live in Golden, can I still join?
A. Sure, we want to provide a space for residents and those nearby to support each other and to provide actions they can take in their neighborhoods and nearby communities, but will also have links to national organizations which may give you an outlet for your energy.
