Frequently
Asked Questions
Q. Do you have any guiding principles, if so, where can I find them?
A. Yes, they are available at this link.
Q. Who is behind Up2Us Golden (Up2Us)
A. Several community members have formed this group after identifying the need amongst their neighbors for community members to share issues and concerns and to take action around concerning actions of the Trump administration and DOGE.
Q. How is Up2Us being funded?
A. Since much of the work is education and information related, and NOT endorsing specific candidates, some of the seed money is being provided by Golden United. However two individuals who started the group are providing the majority of the funding to stand up the organization.
Q. Is Up2Us a non-profit organization?
A. No. It is an ad-hoc network of concerned community members who are seeking to engage a broad number of Golden area individuals in standing together for truth, democracy, and rights.
Q. Are donations allowed?
A. You can express your interest by emailing admin@up2usgolden.org and obtain further information. Near term expenses you could help with include; yard signs ($22), post cards, poster supplies, T-shirts. Donations are NOT tax deductible, nor is Golden United accepting donations on behalf of Up2Us as a pass-through.
Q. Is Up2Us associated with any other groups?
A. Up2Us is serving as the Golden group supporting Indivisible, and the leaders of the Golden Immigrant Protection Team are serving as the leaders of Up2Us immigrant protection task force, so those activities are closely linked. We also seek information and coordinate with other groups such as: ACLU, Together Colorado, and others.
Q. How will you treat my private information?
A. We maintain contact information on a secure platform. We will not share your information with other organizations or individuals outside Up2Us.

Q. I don’t live in Golden, can I still join?
A. Absolutely. Everyone who wants to get involved in supporting our mission is welcome. We want to provide a space for residents and those nearby to support each other and to provide actions they can take in their neighborhoods and nearby communities, and will also provide links to national organizations which may give you an outlet for your energy.

Q. Is there a difference between the Protecting Immigrants Task Force and the Golden Immigration Protection Team?
A. There is no difference. The Up2Us Protecting Immigrants Task Force is part of the statewide Immigration Protection Team network (IPT).
